i think the main thing i want to say in any of my posts about dee is that. every single thing about dennis’ childhood that was shitty was probably worse for dee. in my mind both of them developed eating disorders due to barbara’s constant nagging but dee’s was due to her berating her whereas dennis’ was a manifestation of wanting to continue living up to her high standards. essentially pressure was put on them in very different ways and especially with frank we know that he is a bigot and however badly he treated dennis he probably treated deandra worse purely because he hates women and very few men despite tv tropes can overcome that just by having a daughter… idk this was rambly go look at my other post but like. there should be ten times as many angsty posts about dee’s childhood as there are now
